Mid-Career Development Fellowships
ESRC Mid-Career Development Fellowships are designed to provide the opportunity to enable outstanding researchers to undertake substantive re-skilling and/or knowledge development, and to allow applicants to develop new methodological approaches to their research or engage with new substantive areas of knowledge. For applicants currently based in professional practice, Mid-Career Development Fellowships provide a conversion route into academia, including the opportunity to complete a PhD if required. Each award is made for a known person based on their research potential or their track record of excellence in research, rather than for a team of people. The ESRC is seeking to support candidates who are already showing exceptional all round ability. Awards will be made for two years and, in exceptional circumstances, for three years. Applicants can apply for either full- or part-time awards to fit in with other research activity or with more flexible working patterns.
