      Postdoctoral Fellowships

ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships provide a career development opportunity for those at a relatively early stage of their academic career who can demonstrate great potential in Social Science research. As such, these awards form an important element in the Council's objective to promote excellence in UK Social Science capacity building. The awards provide funding for one year full time, or up to two years part time in certain circumstances (outlined in the scheme guidance), to give fellows time to gear up for a successful academic career.

Please see below information links, which relate to the Standard Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Targeted Postdoctoral Research Fellowships: Macroeconomics of Financial Sector Regulation

The ESRC has recently launched an exciting new call to fund a cohort of one year Postdoctoral Research Fellowships as part of its Capacity Building Initiative in Macroeconomics in partnership with Her Majesty's Treasury, HMT.  The Fellows will be expected to undertake substantive new research which will address the macroeconomics of financial sector regulation and macro-prudential policy as detailed in the call specification. The scheme provides an excellent career development opportunity for those at a relatively early stage of their academic career who can demonstrate great potential in social science research and provide timely and important research for a pressing area of policy.

This call is distinct and separate from the standard ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships open scheme, as in contrast it provides the opportunity for the fellows to undertake substantive new research.

Further information about this initiative can be found at Targeted Postdoctoral Research Fellowships: Macroeconomics of Financial Sector Regulation
