      ESRC Standard (annual) Studentships

ESRC Annual Studentship Competitions - CASE, OPEN and The MRC and NERC Interdisciplinary Schemes.

The ESRC will not make a decision on future calls under these schemes until January 2011, when the Council expects to know its funding allocation from the Comprehensive Spending Review.  This is due to the uncertain financial climate and the possibility of reductions to the Council's budget.

1+3/+3 Proposal (Open) Studentship Competition - call closed

The Proposal (Open) Studentship competition is held annually by the ESRC offering funding for 1+3 (masters attached to a PhD) and +3 (PhD) awards.  For the 2009 competition there will be approximately 90 awards available.

Important information - changes have been made to the application form effective from 24 February 2010. Please read the guidance notes for Je-S submission (PDF)
