Well-being and working life
5 February 2009, London
Existing evidence already confirms the strong association between the quality of individuals' working life and their physical and mental health. One of the key objectives of the Government's Health, Work and Wellbeing Agenda is to identify ways to improve the overall wellbeing and health of the working age population. To support this objective the HSE believes it is important to understand the various benefits for business, individuals and society of improving the quality of working life so that a more coordinated approach can be considered.
The aim of this joint ESRC and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) seminar will be to map and estimate the potential social and economic benefits associated with incremental improvements in the quality of working life experienced by employees in the working age population.
