ESRC-DFID joint fund for poverty alleviation research
This ESRC-DFID joint scheme funds world-class research on a broad range of topics to enhance the quality and impact of social science, and contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. A key feature of the scheme is that it is open to Southern institutions as bid leaders.
The scheme has a current portfolio of 126 research grants.

ESRC DFID Poverty Alleviation Conference 2014
In September 2014, ESRC and DFID hosted a conference to enable researchers and others linked to the Joint Fund to share and learn from each others experience of research uptake and impact. Attendees from all three phases of the scheme and beyond came together for the one-day event in London, bringing a diverse wealth of experience of planning for, working towards, measuring and achieving impact through international development research.
