• making the most of your PhD: opportunities available through us and your Doctoral Training Centre (DTC)
• how to make an impact with your research
• life beyond your PhD.

Who can attend?

ESRC-funded first year students are eligible to attend a conference in the autumn of their first year of study. If your start date is later than the date of the conference you should contact us to discuss which conference you should attend.

Our next conference

The next First Year Conference will be hosted by the University of Nottingham on the 27 November 2013 at the East Midlands Conference Hall, Nottingham.

Registration will open nearer the time.

Conference schedule

We plan to run the following first year conferences:

• Autumn 2014, Wales
• Autumn 2015, north west England.
