National Data Strategy
A national strategy for data resources for the social sciences
The UK Strategy for Data Resources for Social and Economic Research 2009-2012 (referred to in these web pages as the 'National Data Strategy' or 'NDS') sets out priorities for the development of research data resources both within the social sciences and at the boundaries between the social sciences and other areas of scientific enquiry. It seeks to identify major gaps or weaknesses in the current range of data resources including data access, data security and ethical issues surrounding data duration, preservation and reuse. The NDS is collectively owned by the members of the UK Data Forum. ESRC provides stewardship to the strategy.
