British Academy position statement: Society Counts

In October 2012, the British Academy launched a position statement, Society Counts, on the issue of quantitative skills in the humanities and social sciences. The statement outlines the problem of a deficit, the need for quantitative methods, as well as the range of initiatives currently underway in order to meet this challenge.

We welcome this statement, which is in line with the new funding programme detailed above, launched by the Nuffield Foundation in collaboration with ESRC and HEFCE.
