Promoting equality for aid workers

Carrying waterA three-year research project was set up to combat differences in pay between local workers and expatriate workers, jointly funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and ESRC Scheme for Research on International Poverty Reduction.

 ‘Project ADD-UP - Are Development Discrepancies Undermining Performance’ is led and jointly co-ordinated by Professor Stuart Carr from the Poverty Research Group at Massey University in New Zealand and Professor Mac MacLachlan from the Centre for Global Health at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

As a result of the research, Project ADD-UP has been instrumental in setting up the first global task force to tackle the issue.
