This, the first of two symposiums, brings together a mix of UK, Indian and other social scientists, and users of social science. Provisional themes: Globalisation and India's changing healthcare landscapes; Globalisation and the governance of new technologies; Understanding influences on access to medicines in a globalised market; Problematising global health policy; Transnational healthcare markets & providers; Transnational healthcare markets & users.
