Pilot Semantic Grid Service for Environmental Modelling

The project aims to explore the potential application of emerging Grid technologies within the social sciences, through deployment of an existing land-use modelling tool into the Grid context. The project brings together experts in land-use modelling with computer scientists who have experience in Grid and World Wide Web technologies. Measurable outcomes of  the project would include: successful deployment of a land-use modelling tool  as a Grid service, and evaluation of the suitability of Grid standards, methodology, and tools for such a social science application.
