Science Education Research Vodcasting

Much educational research is disseminated through journal publications or conference papers. For science teachers in the primary and secondary sector, access to these journals is problematic and conference attendance is challenging, due to cost and time implications.

The main aim for this project is to disseminate educational research by working with teachers and others to review current research, and represent it in a way that makes it accessible for teachers.

The project will identify science education research projects that may be of interest to science teachers and others working in the sector. The science education research project leaders will be invited to contribute to a vodcast. The vodcasts could, for example, include interviews with the research report writers, or the vodcast could be a discussion between the review team, (much in the way book prizes are discussed prior to an award) or the vodcast may be a brief outline of the research followed by an opinion piece or debate about the findings.

This project also includes a small scale evaluation to explore the potential of vodcasts as a medium for sharing research findings.
