UK Innovation Research Centre at Cambridge and Imperial College (UK~IRC)

The UK Innovation Research Centre (UK~ IRC) is a collaborative initiative for cutting-edge research and knowledge exchange activities. It is a joint venture between the Centre for Business Research at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London Business School.

The Centre carries out research into how innovation can make businesses more competitive; improve public services delivery; and help the UK meet the social, environmental and economic challenges it faces. The research programme explores areas such as: open innovation, service innovation, online communities and innovation policy-making.

In addition to the research, the Centre is involved in developing business practice and policy advice in the fields of innovation and knowledge exchange at national and international levels.

The Centre is co-funded by Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and the Technology Strategy Board (TSB).
