Finding the path to social mobility: new evidence briefings

Why are some people disadvantaged by where they’re born, their upbringing or their family circumstances?

We have produced a series of five evidence briefings on social mobility that investigate how health, parenting, education, skills and poverty influence the opportunities for individuals and the outcomes of their lives.

The briefings draw from a range of research produced by the centres and studies we fund. They present key findings and analyse possible policy interventions that could give people without opportunity or advantage the chance to break the cycle of social immobility.

The research we fund challenges accepted views and offers new perspectives that influence opinion and policy to find ways to create a more open, fairer society.
