PeopleProfessor Geoff Payne and Professor Malcolm Williams (member of the ESRC Methods and Infrastructure Committee), were awarded the BSA/C-SAP award for teaching excellence in recognition of their efforts to promote quantitative research methods. They began championing quantitative analysis as an additional tool in the sociologist's tool box at a time when it was a significantly under used technique. Fortunately, things have changed. Both award-winners continue to hope for a balanced and mixed use of methods for the benefit of all sociological research. |
