We recognise that there are many different types of postgraduate courses which can vary in structure and that each PhD is different. Our Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) provide a flexible range of options which include opportunities to undertake study in collaboration with the public, private and voluntary sector.

We also offer funding for PhD training through studentships linked to our research grants. These are known as associated studentships.

You should speak to the contact at your chosen DTP or CDT about your proposed PhD.

We only offer funding for masters' degrees as an integrated part of a PhD course. We do not fund professional PhDs, diploma studies, international study, summer schools or conference attendance.
